After a week or more of heavy rain, we knew the river was flooded, but until this afternoon I hadn’t ventured down the nearby and appropriately named ’Trent Lane’ to see it for myself. My walk soon came to a halt at the point where footpath became river. Clearly not a day to sit on the bench and admire the view, and for comparison I include a similar shot taken in the spring.

Thank you Sue. The reflections are one of the very few good things about floods. At least there is no damage to property here and the flood plain is doing it’s job.

Great shots. The last one is my favourite. I’ve seen some really bad flooding and like you the best thing was the amazing photo opportunities and great reflections. I was reminded of a line from a Beautiful South song which I like “ the first to find out that its rainin
is the last to find out its a flood…” 🙂
