“In autumn, don’t go to jewellers to see gold; go to the parks!” Mehmet Murat ildan
A glorious November afternoon, and an ideal time for a walk in the park. Time to relax, time to play in the water, time to walk the dog, time check the sundial (or should that be a sundial to check the time), or time to just sit and watch the world go by.

Those sluice gates look like an interesting learning tool for children (and some adults too I dare say!).

Yes our grandchild love them almost as much as I do! There’s something very satisfying about letting a good head of water build up and then opening the gate.

They missed a trick by not adding mini archimedes screw turbines!

Well fancy that… I actually know what an archimedes screw is!

What a lovely way to spend an autumn day, John.
Your grandson looks to be fascinated by the little stream and the sluice gates.

Yes that area keeps him occupied for a long time. The water was icy cold yesterday though!

Oh, I can imagine it was. My son said his car was iced over yesterday morning; I didn’t step foot out of the house.

A great set of autumnal images.
I particularly like number 6. It’s got it all. A nice (low autumnal sun) sun burst, leaves, a family walking the dog, shadows, trees and even someone sat relaxing on the bench. A great composition which captures a lovely moment. Plenty for the eyes to explore and enjoy.
Great stuff! 🙂👍
