This morning was a glorious one for our first walk of 2023. A blue sky and winter sunshine all the way for our round trip of 3 miles through the open countryside from home in Newton Solney to the neighbouring village of Repton. We walked as far as the impressive red-brick building of the music department of Repton School before returning home along the same footpath by the road.
“The appreciation of life does not require wealth or plenty. It requires only gratitude for the beauty of the world.” Deng Ming-Dao, 365 Tao

I just walked it via Google Maps John. Thank you for the suggestion. As it is only just over 20 miles away we may well come to have a look.

Fairly straight tarmac footpath next to the road but a good one for us when the fields are muddy. Repton is an interesting place, largely dominated by the school which owns much of the property. St Wystan’s church has an ancient crypt. Village hall good for coffee and snack. Let us know if you are coming to Newton Solney! We are near St. Mary’s church there.
