Three Word Thursday ///crisis.enjoyable.carry

The two main walks around the periphery of this parkland are simply named ‘long walk’ and ‘short walk’. We know from experience that the long walk, which goes down to the water’s edge, can be muddy at this time of the year so we opted for the short walk. This takes walkers through a field of grazing sheep and one of them was quite happy to photo-bomb this shot. I didn’t mind in the slightest as it adds rather than detracts from the overall scene.

I think this one was saying “There’s no crisis, in fact it’s very enjoyable here in the winter sun. Carry on and you’ll soon be back at the car park”.

  1. Sheep can be very wise at important moments. We just have to pause, listen and take note. We can all benefit. Lovely picture John. Derek.

  2. One of my favourite grand estates in this part of the world, much underrated I think. I was here last month with a couple of old university friends and even met the sheep in question, who greeted us with a cheery “eh up, mi duck, baaaaaa.” I’ve blogged about the place two or three times, including this rant ( http://64reflections.home.blog/2021/06/09/kedleston-hall-a-walk-in-the-park-no-peasants-allowed/ ) about the poor souls who who were collateral damage when it was built.
