The final post in this series of Three Word Thursdays, and it’s a seasonal one. However, if you follow the code it won’t take you to Bethlehem, but to St Mary’s church here in Newton Solney. There has been a church on this site since 12th century but this stained glass window is very much a Victorian addition, similar to countless such windows which can be seen around the country.

This full length picture of the window, topped with a star, reminds us that the westward-leading wise men followed a star to Bethlehem. They had no maps, satnav nor the novelty of 3 word navigation. It is suggested that actual birthplace of Jesus was where the Cathedral Church of the Nativity stands today. Modern travellers can use ///lorry.verbs.swims to find it but it’s not such a good story as three kings following a star is it?
To all our blogging friends and followers we send warmest thoughts and best wishes for a joyful Christmas and peaceful New Year.
