The Old Man of Calke is estimated to be around 1200 years old. It is one of the oldest trees in the country and certainly the oldest in Derbyshire and has a girth of over 10 metres. This gnarly ancient oak tree was still in full leaf last week but is no doubt thinking of winding down for this year and shedding its leaves for the 1200th time. It can be quite difficult to find in the 600 acres (240 hectares) of Calke Park but what3words will show you the exact location.
