Capturing Deer Moments at Calke Abbey

At the beginning of July we did a walk in the grounds of Calke Abbey.  From the main car park we took a footpath which ran alongside the deer enclosure and were almost instantly rewarded with these views of some of the deer. I quickly took out my phone thinking they would soon disappear but in fact they were quite content and happy to pose for me.

I captured a series of shots and a few weeks later I was able to use three of the photos to enter our village show ‘class 77 – three mounted photographs on a theme of your own choice’. (Incidentally, I am pleased to report that I won and received the life-changing prize money of £1).

We returned to the area earlier this week and again found the deer cooperative and enjoying their moments in the mid-September sunshine just as much as we were.
