Norfolk

A week by the sea – day 4

With all the COVID-19 restrictions in place we have decided that we will not be taking a holiday this year so now is a good time to delve into the archives and organise a virtual tour of a few English coastal resorts. Welcome on board and enjoy the views! We would normally sign off our postcards with the hackneyed ‘Wish you were here’, but at the moment it isn’t appropriate. You may not wish to be ‘here’. If that’s the case, don’t succumb to temptation of travelling when you know it’s much safer to stay at home.

Day four – Greetings from Norfolk

We explored the north Norfolk coast a few years ago and enjoyed the area from Hunstanton, Blakeney, Sheringham, Cromer to Happisburgh. And yes, those big Norfolk skies are big!

  1. I have no problem with saying the name, having grown up in the eastern counties – I just can’t understand why all you educated people don’t spell it like we say it. 🙂 Norfolk is a fine county and, to be honest, I felt more relaxed on this tour than on the South West ones (I’m doing it backwards!)

    1. Agree. We prefer the north and Norfolk to the south/south west. We have never found our ideal place in Cornwall and have said ‘never again’ about three times now. Is it really worth the long drive? Notice also a big gap in the tour – nothing from the south east which seems to be a no go area for us.

      1. W went on holiday to Eastbourne with the kids once – about fifteen years ago. Full of beggars on the streets and travelling to the SE from Nottingham is not pleasant. That’s why my tour of piers sort of petered out – I’m too old to travel round Kent and Sussex! 🙂
